Whom do you trust in?
“Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.”
Psalm 37:3-5 NLT
Are you weighed down today with cares and concerns? To “Trust in the Lord”, means that you don’t worry and fret about things. It means you trust Him with every circumstance, problem or situation you are facing today. This means you spend time in His presence, delighting in Him. The word “trust” means to go quickly for refuge! It also means to be
confident , feel safe and careless, in other words, carefree! In Hebrew the word “trust” also gives the idea of “being stretched out or taut”, meaning something you can rely on that is firm and solid. Therefore you can have a sense of well-being and security when you trust Him. God is a sure thing! You can trust Him! Give Him your problems and concerns today! 1 Peter 5:7 says to cast all your cares upon Him. Why? Because He cares for you! Don’t wait another second! Go quickly and receive the peace you need today. Don’t forget, God is your source of peace, your security, your refuge. When you think of the word refuge, what do you think of? I think of a hiding place. I think of a place to run to in times of trouble. God will hide you under the shadow of His wings. You can trust Him! Really you can! He is always available to help you! Think of this, when you call up0n the Lord, He is right there at your beck and call. He so thoroughly loves you and cares for you and your well being. That is why He had such things as 1 Peter 5:7 written, as well as Psalm 37:3-5 along with many other verses. Meditate on this today. Put these scriptures in your mind instead of the fears and concerns. As Philippeans 4:8 says, think on or meditate on, these things….
Pray this: Father, I come before you today. I give you my concerns, problems and the things weighing heavy on my heart. I hand them off to you. I know I can trust You! You are my strength, my refuge, my hiding place. Thank you for being there for me! No problem is too big that You can’t handle. I refuse to fret and worry about this anymore. I trust You! You are my source of strength! You are my everything. Thank you for Your peace reigning over my heart and mind today.
