Don’t let your own thinking hold you back

Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he….”

God has such great things in store for you. However oftentimes our own thinking holds us back. Such thinking as, “I can never do that” “I’m not good enough”, or  “I’m not smart enough”, and on and on it goes. Where does that kind of thinking come from? Our un-renewed minds! As my husband says, “It’s stinkin’ thinking”. God has put so much potential on the inside of us! We can do anything we want if we just make up our mind to do it and quit listening to the excuses and arguments on the inside of us. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV says to “…. demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” The word demolish here means literally to cast, (pull, put, take down) to destroy. Instead of listening to the lies, take control of your mind and your thoughts and say this instead: “I can do ALL things through Christ which strengthens me”! I love the word meaning of strengthen. It means to empower, to enable, to be made strong!

So, what is it today that is holding you back? How can you reach your full potential in Christ? It starts by what you allow to go on in your mind. Put God’s Word in and change your thoughts and let that come out of your mouth! It will solidify your thinking if you say it!

Pray this: Father, I come humbly before you today. Forgive me for my lack mentality. I realize you have put great things inside of me. I reach for that potential and refuse to continue to put myself down and think wrong thoughts. You are on the inside of me and you are helping me to be the best I can possibly be. I take control of my mind and steer it in the right direction now! Thank you for your goodness and kindness towards me! Thank you for believing in me and helping me to see what you see! In Jesus Name. Amen.
