Be bold! Take the land God has given you!

Simply put, trusting God and obeying Him is the key to success in any endeavor in life. In reading Deuteronomy 1, God gave the children of Israel specific instructions about everything they were supposed to do. It was very clear that He had given them the land and that they were to go in, take it and occupy it. He had promised it to them, all they had to do was obey Him and go get what had been given to them. He told them, “Don’t be afraid, don’t be dismayed, don’t be discouraged by what you feel or what you see or what you hear, just go get it, it’s yours, I’ve given it to you!” (My paraphrase).

However, they got their eyes off the instruction and off of Him and instead focused on what they saw, heard, and felt. As they looked at the giants in the land and compared themselves to the big problems in front of them, they began to grumble and complain. They evidently forgot the instructions God had given them and saw themselves small in comparison to what they saw in the natural, in this case, the giants in the land. (See Numbers 13-14). Instead of encouraging each other with words like, “We can do this”, “God said do it, let’s do it”, It’s ours, let’s go!”, they  murmured, complained and discouraged each other. They said such things, like, “God must hate us,” “He must want us slaughtered!”, “We can’t do it”.

They refused to trust God and obey Him and do what He had told them to do. Even though there were a few in the group who were the encouragers,  and told them, Come on guys, we can do this! The Lord will go before us! He will fight for us! They even reminded the complainers to look back at how the Lord had taken very good care of them and protected them again and again. But no, they believed the lies and did not get what God had promised, because they did not believe or receive what was already provided for them. So sad! Their unbelieving hearts, disobedience, and continuous complaining and grumbling ultimately led to their demise. God was not happy with them.

The question today is this: What has God promised you in HIs Word? Are you marching forward to victory to take the “land” He has promised you or are you allowing doubt and unbelief to hold you back? Are you looking at the obstacles and problems, complaining and listening to other discouragers? OR Are you boldly proclaiming what is yours? And going after it until you conquer, saying, I can do this, it’s rightfully mine, I’m taking it now! My friend, if it’s a promise in the Word of God, it’s yours! God has already given it to you! Go for it! Take it by faith!

How? By speaking forth the promises, believing what God has says is yours. Forgetting not the benefits that have already been given to you. Fight for what is rightfully yours. Stand and having done all, continue to stand. Don’t waver at unbelief. Refuse to doubt! Say it, Believe it, Receive it! It’s all done by faith. If God said it, you can have it. I want to encourage you today, go after what God has said is yours. Don’t let the enemy defeat you. Continue to stand on the promise until you have what God has promised you! It will surely come to pass, just as He has spoken.
